About this place
Located 30 minutes by boat from Caraíva, it is home to approximately 50 Pataxó people in a reserve near Monte Pascoal National and Historical Park. This small family group created a Cultural Center in 2004, open to visitors, to share Pataxó Indigenous culture. This place is part of Rede Bem Bahia’s Regional Guide and helps visitors understand the natural, historical, cultural and scenic diversity of the Costa do Descobrimento. The experience varies with the time of day, tide, weather, calendar and means of access. Plan your visit considering travel, time on site and current rules, and confirm operational information before setting out.
Things to do
Take part in a community-led experience, listen to Pataxó narratives, learn about their knowledge, cultural expressions and crafts, and respect rules on recording and visits. Allow time to notice the details presented in the attraction description and take photographs responsibly.
