About this place
Traditional Indigenous land in Monte Pascoal National Park. Established in 2010, Aldeia Xandó is home to 12 traditional families originating from Barra Velha, Pará and Monte Pascoal. In the 1980s they began moving to the coast beside Caraíva village, and today it is a symbol of the preservation of Indigenous traditions. This place is part of Rede Bem Bahia’s Regional Guide and helps visitors understand the natural, historical, cultural and scenic diversity of the Costa do Descobrimento. The experience varies with the time of day, tide, weather, calendar and means of access. Plan your visit considering travel, time on site and current rules, and confirm operational information before setting out.
