About this place
At the entrance to town, this small square is just behind the famous Cabral traffic junction. It is a space for residents and tourists to meet and mingle. With a good view of Cruzeiro Beach, the first beach north of the center, it attracts walkers and people practicing CrossFit and street workouts in the late afternoon, seeking tranquility or fitness. Its name comes from the many Surinam cherry trees planted in the square. This place is part of Rede Bem Bahia’s Regional Guide and helps visitors understand the natural, historical, cultural and scenic diversity of the Costa do Descobrimento. The experience varies with the time of day, tide, weather, calendar and means of access. Plan your visit considering travel, time on site and current rules, and confirm operational information before setting out.
